In all, seven box culverts with protruding concrete headwalls will
be replaced. These headwalls have been associated with several
accidents in previous years. Logan County was awarded funds
through the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program to complete
this construction.
The project was awarded to Illinois Civil Contractors, East
Peoria, at a cost of $271,566.
Cooperation and patience are always appreciated during the
construction season as the highway department continues to improve
the safety of our roads and bridges.
