[July 21, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Authorities say smoke coming out of the cockpit forced a Chicago-bound United Airlines flight to make an emergency landing at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland.

United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski says United Flight 949 from London's Heathrow Airport landed safely in Iceland at 2:51 p.m. CDT Monday. There were 178 people aboard the Boeing 767.

No injuries were reported.

Urbanski says a replacement aircraft was dispatched to Keflavik, and passengers were expected to arrive at O'Hare International Airport early Tuesday afternoon.
