Agriculture, livestock futures fall on the CBOT

[July 22, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were lower Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for September delivery slid 7.5 cents to $5.3475 a bushel, while September corn dropped 11.75 cents to $3.115 a bushel and September oats fell 9.75 cents to $2.0625 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery plunged 18.5 cents to $10.145 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures also fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle fell 0.78 cent to 86.02 cents a pound; August feeder cattle lost 1.22 cents to $1.0325 a pound; August lean hogs fell 2.15 cents to 62.5 cents a pound; and August pork bellies sank 2.3 cents to 63.5 cents a pound.
