Agriculture futures trade mixed on the CBOT

[July 23, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery dropped 12.75 cents to $5.22 a bushel, while September corn lost 3.5 cents to $3.08 a bushel and September oats fell 7.25 cents to $1.99 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery rose 4 cents to $10.185 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures were lower and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle slid 1 cent to 85.02 cents a pound; August feeder cattle slipped 0.13 cent to $1.0312 cents a pound; August lean hogs fell 0.4 cent to 62.1 cents a pound; and August pork bellies advanced 1.05 cents to 64.55 cents a pound.
