[July 23, 2009]  Deputy Coroner Jason Southerland recently attended a one-day training with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit and Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. The "Highway Serial Killings Initiative" seminar is a new initiative by the FBI to help with the investigation of murders that occur and bodies that have been recovered along major highways.

The training provided an overview of the initiative, behavioral analysis of violent crimes, case studies and investigative resources, according to Coroner Robert Thomas.
