Ag futures mostly rise, livestock futures drop

[July 24, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mostly higher Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareSeptember corn jumped 10.5 cents to $3.185 a bushel, while September wheat added 3 cents to $5.25 a bushel and soybeans for August delivery jumped 15.5 cents to $10.34 a bushel. September oats were unchanged at $1.99.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle slipped 0.02 cent to 85 cents a pound, while August feeder cattle lost 0.75 cent to $1.0237 a pound. August lean hogs dropped 0.85 cent to 61.25 cents a pound, and August pork bellies slid 0.55 cent to 64 cents a pound.
