[July 25, 2009]  A Logan County media campaign, beginning in August, will remind parents of the significant role they play in increasing the chances that their child will not use drugs. The campaign message is: "Start Talking. Keep Talking." "Who is shaping your teen's future? I am, are you?"

This new campaign is a continuation of one that was done in Logan County last year. Both focus on the influences that surround young people and the importance of parents being the most positive influence in their child's life. Studies show that parents' disapproval remains one of the top reasons that young people don't start drinking, using tobacco or other drugs.

The media campaign will run for nine months throughout Logan County.

The campaign is being implemented by Chestnut Health Systems and local community funders. The message will be displayed on fliers, giveaway items, posters and other materials throughout Logan County. If you or your business would like to help support this campaign by sponsoring a media item with your business logo on it, please contact Camille Springer at Chestnut Health Systems, 309-451-7843.
