 Danielle
Harper, Lawndale, Seventeen years old; daughter of Lori and
Chris Eustis; attends Lincoln Community High School
Danielle
plans on graduating from High School and going to ICC for two years,
then transferring to Western Illinois University. She plans on
majoring in Psychology, and becoming a Juvenile Psychologist. She
would also like to minor in Physical Education to become a Physical
Education teacher.
During School, Danielle was involved with Clubs, for example, FCA,
One Club, and Pep Club. She played soccer her freshman year, did
track her junior year, and plans on doing track again her senior
year. She works at Dairy Queen, a lot after school, so that was one
of the activities she does, and she loves it. She also lettered in
Soccer and Track.
 Danielle
Horn, Emden, Eighteen years old; daughter of Ty Horn and Valerie
Leinenbach; graduate of Hartsburg-
Emden High School; attends Western
Illinois University
In the fall, Danielle will be attending Western Illinois
University. She will be majoring in Agriculture Education. After
college, her goal is to come back to around Logan County and teach
students about agriculture in the area high schools.
While Danielle was in high school, she was involved in the FFA
organization, where she held the office of Treasurer her junior year
and President her senior year. Livestock Judging, Food Science, and
Crops Judging were among her favorite Career Development Experience
activities she participated in through the FFA. Spanish Club and
Future Educators of America were other clubs she held various
offices in. She was a junior varsity and varsity volleyball player,
and on the cheerleading squad. Outside of high school, she has been
a member of her 4-H club for nine years. Also, she was a member of
the 4-H Federation while in high school. She is a member of the
American Hereford Association as well as the Illinois Junior
Hereford Association. Danielle's Special Honors include: Dekalb
Outstanding Agriculture Student Award, Lincoln/Logan County Farm
Bureau Scholarship, GAST Scholarship, Most Improved Volleyball
Award, State FFA Degree, Gold Top Chapter President, and Top Member
of Livestock Judging Team.

 Jessica
Owen, Lincoln, Nineteen years old; daughter of Jack and Reatha;
graduate of Lincoln Community High School; attends Eastern Illinois
University
In the fall, Jessica will begin her sophomore year at Eastern
Illinois University in Charleston, IL. There, she will be majoring
in nursing as she hopes to one day be a neonatal nurse practitioner.
Her overall goal is to become a neonatal flight nurse for a large
children's hospital.
During high school, Jessica was on the varsity softball team for
four years and on the LCHS dance team for three. She served one year
as the team captain. She was a member of the National Honor Society
and during that time she completed over 50 hours of community
service. Outside of school, she is an active member of Lincoln
Christian Church. She was a member of the Good News Publishing
Company for 6 years. She has also been a part of T.R.A.S.H. for
seven years. T.R.A.S.H. stands for Teens Rescued and Serving Him and
it is a percussion group that travels the state beating on anything
they can find including pots and pans, broom sticks, plungers and
oil barrels. She is an active volunteer in the toddler room and
Vacation Bible School at church. At school, she plays intramural
volleyball and she volunteers as a "Panther Pal." Jessica's Special
Honors include: Logan County Board May Student of the Month 2008,
Logan County Board Student of the Year 2008, 9-time Central State
Eight Academic All-Conference, National Honor Society 2008, National
Honorary Society Phi Eta Sigma Honors Member 2009, Eastern Illinois
University Dean's List 2009, EIU Honors College Dean's List 2009,
Illinois State Scholar 2009, LCHS Softball Defensive Player of the
Year 2006, President's Education Award 2008, and having a 4.0 GPA
her freshman year at EIU.
 Amy
Schumacher, Lincoln, Twenty-one years old; daughter of Steve and
Jan; graduate of Lincoln Community High School; attends Miami
University – Ohio
Amy will be starting her senior year at Miami University this
fall and after graduating in May, is tentatively planning to move to
Washington D.C. with a job on Capitol Hill or in another area of
interest. After gaining a couple years of work experience, she will
get her Master's degree in something related to political
communication.
Amy is a core competitor on the nationally ranked Miami
University Speech Team. She founded and was president of Miami
University Students for Life, is a current member of College
Republicans, Ambassadors for Children, the Miami Diversity Affairs
Council, Association for Women Students, and the Public Relations
Student Society of America. She is also an active member of the
Bridge Church. Amy was a member of the Miami University Oxford
Scholars program and has received the Miami Student Scholar award
the past two years. She has earned many awards from competing on
the speech team, most notably winning three events and placing in
three others at the Ohio University Swing Tournament last fall. |
