Ag futures mostly down, livestock prices mostly up

[July 29, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mostly lower Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for September delivery shed 4.25 cents to $5.1625 a bushel, while September corn lost 1.75 cents to $3.205 a bushel and September oats slid 1.5 cents to $1.935. Soybeans for August delivery jumped 33.25 cents to $10.545 a bushel, however.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle added 0.22 cent to 84.92 cents a pound; August feeder cattle rose 0.45 cent to $1.0285 a pound; August lean hogs dropped 2.32 cents to 56.85 cents a pound; and August pork bellies slipped 0.85 cent to 61.37 cents a pound.
