Oasis notes For the week of June 4-10 [June 03, 2009]  Bingo sponsored by Maple Ridge Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the bingo games at The Oasis on Thursday, June 4, beginning at 1 p.m. Logan Lanes Senior Fun Day The Oasis is partnering with Logan Lanes for Senior Fun Day at Logan Lanes on Friday, June 5, beginning at 10 a.m. The cost is $5, which includes bowling shoes and ball. The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Free blood pressure checks

The Oasis offers free blood pressure checking every Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Book club

The senior center's book club will meet Monday, June 8, at The Oasis, beginning at 1 p.m.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 9 will feature chicken salad sandwich, carrot and celery sticks, slaw, and dessert. The suggested donation is $3.75; or, if you stay to play cards, the suggested cost is $3.25. The reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Card winners

The winner for weekday pinochle was Henry Warnisher. The weekend pinochle winners were Esther Will and Eleanor Barton. The five-in-one winner was Ella Lee Graney.
