Just some of the people waiting to be shuttled over to the groundbreaking ceremony from the fairgrounds.

A gravel road was built to facilitate getting back to where the hospital will be built.

A crowd of upwards of 300 came to be a part of the event.

A fixture in our community whenever something important takes place, Sen. Larry Bomke is interviewed by a TV crew.

Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of ALMH, talks about the new hospital.

Dr. Ken Sagins, of the Springfield Clinic board of directors, talks about what the new hospital will mean to area residents.

The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors helped turn a little soil.

William Wyles, the man who laid the first brick at the old hospital, was on hand for the event.
