Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[June 05, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery climbed 17.75 cents to $6.3525 a bushel, while July corn jumped 16 cents to $4.485 a bushel and July oats rose 8.25 cents to $2.635 a bushel. Soybeans for July delivery surged 48 cents to $12.30 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures traded higher, while pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle edged up 0.52 cent to 80.02 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.48 cent to 96.6 cents a pound; June lean hogs slipped 0.03 cent to 57.27 cents a pound; and July pork bellies lost 3 cents to 62.95 cents a pound.
