Agriculture futures mixed, livestock prices rise

[June 09, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery slid 7 cents to $6.16 a bushel, and July corn dropped 3.75 cents to $4.4025 a bushel. However, July soybeans rose 4.5 cents to $12.30 a bushel, while oats for July delivery were unchanged at $2.56 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle edged up 0.10 cent to 81.25 cents a pound, and August feeder cattle added 0.13 cent to 96.75 cents a pound. June lean hogs gained 0.18 cent to 57.35 cents a pound, and July pork bellies rose 0.97 cent to 63.67 cents a pound.
