Agriculture futures advance on the CBOT

[June 10, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery jumped 15.75 cents to $6.1375 a bushel, while July corn advanced 9 cents to $4.44 a bushel and July oats gained 3 cents to $2.46 a bushel. Soybeans for July delivery rose 11 cents to $12.435 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures traded higher and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle rose 1.1 cent to 81.72 cents a pound; August feeder cattle edged up 0.47 cent to 96.32 cents a pound; June lean hogs slipped 0.22 cent to 57.35 cents a pound; and July pork bellies lost 3 cents to 58.9 cents a pound.
