Chill White split doubleheader

[June 10, 2009]  Lincoln Chill White played the Bloomington-Normal Lightning in a doubleheader Tuesday night.

DonutsIn the first game, the Chill won 4-1. Winning pitcher was Taylor Sparrow with an impressive outing. She had 18 strikeouts, two walks and no hits. With her bat she added an RBI. Meg Meeker had two hits and one RBI. Jessica Plummer had two hits, one run and tore up the base path with four stolen bases. Ashley Getchel had one run scored and a stolen base. Ashley Poole had one hit, one run and two stolen bases. Brianne Painter had a run scored and Heather Vancleve had a hit to help the Chill.

In the second game, Jordan Wood was the losing pitcher in a 15-5 game. Meg Meeker also helped at the mound and had two hits, one run and one stolen base. Wood scored once to help her team's cause. Kaitlyn Hasprey and Ashlyn Lesson both had RBIs. Kallie Rogers and Ashley Getchel both had hits. Brianne Painter and Stephanie Smith each had one hit, one run and one stolen base. Jessica Plummer helped as well with a run scored and two stolen bases.

"We are very pleased with all of the girls' efforts tonight," the Chill coaches said. "We have not had a game in nine days, and to split a doubleheader was good after being out this long."
