[June 11, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn says he and the state's four top lawmakers had a "productive" meeting about the state's budget crisis.

But there was still no agreement Tuesday on the income tax increase Quinn wants, and the legislative leaders are focused now on budget cuts.

Quinn said the three-hour meeting focused on money-saving strategies like Medicaid managed care and creating other efficiencies in state government.

He says they also talked about having an economic recovery commission to focus on creating jobs. Another commission would look at implementing budget cuts an advisory board has proposed.

Quinn met in his downtown Chicago office with Republican and Democratic leaders from both the House and Senate. The group is set to meet again next week.
