Agriculture futures tumble, livestock prices rise

[June 13, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures fell Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery dropped 10 cents to $5.8475 a bushel, while July corn tumbled 15.5 cents to $4.255 a bushel. July oats sank 6 cents to $2.385 a bushel, while soybeans for July delivery slid 21.5 cents to $12.455 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle added 0.15 cent to 81.60 cents a pound, while August feeder cattle gained 1.20 cents to 97.57 cents a pound. June lean hogs edged up 0.02 cent to 57.02 cents a pound, and July pork bellies jumped 2.90 cents to 58.45 cents a pound.
