Narrative: Theresa Grigg was northbound on Old Route 66,
approaching 1800th Street in a maroon 1991 Buick Regal. Grigg was in
the right-hand lane.
Langley, A 59-year-old male Lincoln resident was northbound on Old Route
66 behind the Grigg vehicle. He was operating a green and white 1997
Harley Davidson and had a passenger. The passenger was a 47-year-old
female Lincoln resident. The motorcycle was in the left lane.
Grigg changed lanes to the left lane as the motorcycle began to
pass. The motorcycle entered the median to avoid a collision with
the Grigg vehicle and struck a sign. The collision with the sign
caused the motorcycle to overturn. Both occupants were ejected off
the motorcycle. There was no contact between the two vehicles.

Langley, the driver of the motorcycle, was airlifted to St. John's Hospital in
Springfield, where he was later pronounced dead at 2:15 pm. The passenger was
transported by ambulance to St. John's Hospital.
According to Susan Boone, Sangamon County Coroner, an autopsy
performed this morning reveals the cause of Langley's death to be
blunt force injuries to the body as a result of the collission.
Grigg was cited for improper lane usage.
The public is reminded that all individuals are presumed innocent
until charges are proven in a court of law.
