[June 17, 2009]  Lincoln Chill White played in a weekend tourney in Springfield. The results are as follows:

First game: Chill 10, McLean County Blast 4

Taylor Sparrow was awesome on the mound with 13 strikeouts and no hits against her. She also helped with a triple of her own at the plate. Brianne Painter had three hits, two RBIs and one run scored. Kallie Rogers had a double, an RBI and a run scored. Stephanie Smith had a run scored. Ashlyn Glick had a single, double and an RBI. Ashley Poole had a hit and two runs scored. Meg Meeker had two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Kaitlyn Hasprey had a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Heather Vancleve had two hits and two runs scored. Jessica Plummer had a double, single and one run scored to help the attack.

Second game: Chill lost to Black Widows Red 20-0.

Jordan Wood was the losing pitcher. Chill coaches said, "Wood pitched well, but the other team had some great hitters." Brianne Painter and Kaitlyn Hasprey had the only two hits for the Chill.

Third game: Lincoln won 9-8 over the Montcoupin Storm.

Taylor Sparrow had 12 strikeouts and only one hit from the pitching rubber. She also contributed with a hit of her own at the plate. Brianne Painter had two hits and two runs scored. Kallie Rogers had a hit and two RBIs. Ashlyn Glick and Meg Meeker both had hits for Chill. Ashley Poole had a hit and an RBI. Kaitlyn Hasprey and Jordan Wood both had runs scored. Jessica Plummer had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Fourth game: Chill lost to the Oly Fire 14-0.

Taylor Sparrow had six strikeouts in three innings. Meg Meeker had three strikeouts in two innings. Ashlyn Glick and Ashlyn Lesson both had hits for the Chill.

Last game: Lincoln Chill lost 12-0 to Montcoupin Storm.

Sparrow had 12 strikeouts as the pitcher and had a hit at the plate. Ashlyn Glick and Ashley Poole both helped with a hit each.

The coaches said they were extremely proud of the girls this weekend. "We played some teams that are A classification, and we are a B team," they said. "We showed we can play with anyone if we stick to excelling on the basics. The parents and girls should be very happy with how we did."

The Lincoln Chill will have a tourney in Lincoln starting on Friday and continuing through Sunday.
