Logan County grand jury issues 5 indictments

[June 17, 2009]  Michael D. McIntosh, Logan County state's attorney, announces that the Logan County grand jury has issued five indictments. One Lincoln resident was indicted for an incident that occurred June 2 in Lincoln. Four members of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School wrestling team were indicted for an incident that occurred at the Super 8 motel in Lincoln on Dec. 29, 2008.

HardwareColton Beaupre, age 18, was indicted for aggravated battery and unlawful restraint. Aggravated battery is a Class 3 felony and unlawful restraint is a Class 4 felony. Ian P. McConnell, 18, Joseph G. Jenco, 18, and Jacob C. Sirous, 17, were also indicted for unlawful restraint. The BBCHS wrestling team was in Lincoln to compete in the Lincoln Holiday Wrestling Tournament. While they were at the motel, a juvenile member of the wrestling team was assaulted.

Michael W. Alley was indicted for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He fled the scene of an accident in which his wife was injured. Leaving the scene of a personal injury accident is a Class 2 felony. He is also charged with aggravated DUI and aggravated driving while his driver's license was suspended.

"In both of these investigations, the Lincoln Police Department did excellent work to bring these matters to the point where these charges could be levied," McIntosh said. "I am personally pleased with the amount of time and effort Lincoln police officers put into these investigations."
