[June 22, 2009]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending June 20: 

BUILT-IN REFRIGERATORS 

Viking Range Corporation is recalling Viking Built-In Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezers and Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers sold nationwide from July 1999 to April 2006. The refrigerator's doors can detach, posing an injury hazard. 

This recall involves Viking built-in 48-inch wide side-by-side refrigerator/freezers and the built-in 36-inch wide refrigerators with bottom freezers. A complete list of the model and serial numbers can be found at www.recalls.org. "Viking" is written on the front of the refrigerator. The model and serial numbers are located either behind the produce drawer or on the ceiling of the interior of the refrigerators.

STARBUCKS COFFEE GRINDERS 

Starbucks Coffee Co. is recalling Starbucks Barista® Blade Grinders and Seattle's Best Coffee® Blade Grinders sold at Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee stores nationwide from March 2002 to March 2009. The grinder can fail to turn off or can turn on unexpectedly, posing a laceration hazard.

AIR COMPRESSORS 

Campbell Hausfeld is recalling Air Compressors sold at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from January 2009 to June 2009. The compressor's thermal overload, which shuts the unit off when it overheats, can fail. This can lead to overheating, melting of parts and a risk of fire. 

The recall involves the Campbell Hausfeld model HU200099AV air compressor with a 20-gallon tank. The recall includes date codes ranging from January 2009 through June 2009. The model number and date code can be located on the back of the tank. 

Consumers should return the compressor to any Wal-Mart for a full refund.

HEAT GUNS 

Wagner Spray Tech Corp. is recalling Heat Guns sold nationwide from November 2004 to April 2009. An electrical component failure inside the heat guns can cause them to continue to produce heat after the power switch is turned off. This can melt the heat gun's plastic exterior, causing a burn if the heat gun is touched and ignite nearby combustibles, posing fire and burn hazards. 

Recalled models include the Milwaukee Heat Gun MHT3300, ACE HT3500 Heat Gun, and the Wagner Heat Gun HT3500. The heat gun's name and model number are located on a black label on the bottom of the heat gun's barrel. The heat guns are black or yellow plastic and measure about 10 inches long, 8 inches high and 3 inches wide.

CHILDREN'S HOODED SWEATSHIRTS 

Macy's Merchandising Group Inc. is recalling Threads and Greendog Hooded Sweatshirts sold at Macy's stores nationwide from July 2008 to March 2009. The sweatshirts have a drawstring sewn at the base of the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. 

This recall includes boys and girls Epic Threads sweatshirts and girls Greendog sweaters with nonfunctional ties in numerous styles. The Epic Threads sweatshirts are white, gray, maroon, yellow, blue, green, and black, with images on the front and/or back. The girls Greendog sweaters are brown and gray. Only sizes small and medium are subject to the recall. 

Consumers should immediately remove the ties from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to any Macy's for a full refund.

CHILDREN'S JEWELRY SETS 

D&D Distributing-Wholesale Inc. is recalling  "Chelsea's" Necklace and Bracelet Sets sold nationwide from April 1999 to April 2009. Small parts can detach from the necklace and bracelet when the elastic string break, posing a choking hazard. 

This recall involves two models of "Chelsea's" Necklace and Bracelet Set. These two models are "Crayon" and the "Shiny Heart" Necklace and Bracelet Set. Both models have yellow, blue, red, green, purple, and pink crayons or hearts connected by elastic string. Each set has one necklace and one bracelet.

BATTERY EQUALIZERS 

SmartSpark Energy Systems is recalling BattEQ Battery Equalizers sold nationwide from July 2006 to March 2009. The recalled equalizers can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard. 

The recalled battery equalizers are charge balancing devices designed to increase the performance and longevity of rechargeable batteries.

BODY BOARDS 

JGR Copa LLC is recalling 18" Kick Body Boards sold nationwide from January 2009 to May 2009. The green surface coating of the screened logo "Big Lizard™ body boards" on the underside of the body board contains excessive levels of lead. 

This recall involves the 18" Kick Body Board. The boards have various designs on the front including peace signs, white hibiscus, or yellow smiley face. A green lizard and "Big Lizard™ body boards" are printed on the underside in green.
