Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[June 24, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery inched up 0.75 cent to $5.4675 a bushel, while July corn jumped 3.75 cents to $3.89 a bushel and July oats gained 4.5 cents to $2.08 a bushel. Soybeans for July delivery surged 27.5 cents to $11.79 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures rose and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle climbed 0.47 cent to 83.32 cents a pound; August feeder cattle rose 0.78 cent to 99.7 cents a pound; July lean hogs slipped 0.33 cent to 60.12 cents a pound; and July pork bellies advanced 1.3 cents to 63.2 cents a pound.
