[June 25, 2009]  The Lincoln Senior Legion team struggled in the field Wednesday but came up on the right end of a Rantoul misplay in the bottom of the seventh to take the contest 7-6.

Trailing 6-5 going into the bottom of the seventh, Lincoln loaded the bases with no one out. A ground ball and a short fly to left set up the wild finish. With two outs, Dustin Eimer hit a hard grounder to Rantoul's second baseman. The second baseman misplayed the ball and the tying run scored. The runner from second, Andrew Sparks, then sprinted home and his slide caused the ball to come loose from the catcher and scored the winning run.

The game was played as a seven-inning game due to travel time for Rantoul.

Lincoln's next game has been changed from a home date to an away date today (Thursday) at Jacksonville.
