[June 27, 2009]  Each week more area children are joining our YMCA Summer Day Camp fun! Kid Camp, for kindergarten to third grade, and Preteen Camp, for fourth to sixth grade, will be offered through Aug. 21. Our Y kids swim daily, enjoy lots of field trip excursions, experience activities and outdoor fun that relate to our weekly camp themes, have guest speakers, and so much more. Call the Y to find out how your child can join our summer fun!

For information on Lincoln Area YMCA programs and events, visit the downtown office, 604 Broadway St., Suite 1; call 735-3915; or visit www.lincolnymca.org.  The YMCA Activity Center is at the former Odd Fellows gymnasium on Wyatt Avenue.

Early registration for the YMCA Before and After School program will begin July 20 and continue through Aug. 6 at the YMCA office. Fees will increase after Aug. 6. The YMCA Before and After School program is offered for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade at District 27 elementary schools, Chester-East Lincoln and Olympia South. More information is available at www.lincolnymca.org.

This is your last chance to join YMCA Clay Art Camp, which will be July 6-9. This camp is back because past students have had so much fun with the pinch, coil and mold techniques used in making their special project. July 25 is the date for students in this camp to return to paint their dried clay creation. Projects will be then be fired in our kiln and ready for pickup by the first part of August. Call the Y for more information.

YMCA Golf Clinic instructor Jeff Nelson will customize lessons for each young golfer, kindergarten through eighth grade, to improve their individual skills. Session B regular registrations end July 20, and the program begins Aug. 3-6 at the Lincoln Elks driving range. Sign up soon. Space is limited.
