Lincoln Police Department report for Tuesday, March 3
Property damage on March 2 at 1:46 p.m.; 2821 Woodlawn Road, 348
feet east of Heitmann Drive
--Andrew J. Crum, 21-year-old male, Springfield; 2004 Chevrolet
Silverado 4x2
Crum said he backed up to a garage door on the east side of the
business at 2821 Woodlawn Road to make a delivery. He said he
thought he'd put the vehicle in park. He exited the vehicle, saw it
roll backward and tried to get back to it, but his knee gave out and
he was unable to stop the vehicle from striking the garage door. The
vehicle was unattended when it struck the door.
Crum had dislocated his knee while attempting to get back to the
vehicle but was not struck by the vehicle. He was taken to Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital to be treated.
When an officer arrived at the scene, Crum had been transported
to the hospital and his vehicle had been moved. The garage door was
a large one, was knocked off its tracks, and the tracks were
damaged.
