Agriculture futures mostly gain on the CBOT

[March 04, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures mostly rose in midday trading Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery added 2.5 cents to $5.085 a bushel; May corn gained 1.75 cents to $3.52 a bushel; May oats shed 5.5 cents to $1.85 a bushel; and May soybeans climbed 7.5 cents to $8.515 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle rose 0.52 cent to 84.47 cents a pound; April feeder cattle gained 0.35 cent to 92.70 cents a pound; April lean hogs added 0.63 cent to 60.90 cents a pound; and March pork bellies jumped 1.5 cents to 78 cents a pound.
