Agriculture futures mostly gain on the CBOT

[March 05, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures mostly rose in midday trading Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 15.25 cents to $5.17 a bushel; May corn climbed 9 cents to $3.59 a bushel; and May soybeans popped 15.5 cents to $8.69 a bushel. May oats were unchanged at $1.85 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle rose 1.78 cents to 85 cents a pound; April feeder cattle gained 1.25 cents to 94.05 cents a pound; April lean hogs added 1.43 cents to 62.25 cents a pound; and March pork bellies jumped 3 cents to 79.50 cents a pound.
