[March 06, 2009]  Showers and thunderstorms will become likely after midnight Friday as a cold front stalls out across central Illinois. The front will remain nearly stationary on Saturday. Low pressure moving northeast along the front will bring an extended period of showers and thunderstorms to central and southeast Illinois for Saturday through Sunday.

Heavy rains will be possible throughout the weekend, with some severe storms possible on Sunday. Minor flooding may develop during heavy rains. Minor river flooding will continue along the Illinois River from Havana to points downstream.
