Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[March 13, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures rose Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 16.75 cents to $5.25 a bushel; May corn surged 20.75 cents to $3.8525 a bushel; May oats rose 5.25 cents to $1.87 a bushel; and May soybeans advanced 20 cents to $8.82 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures were higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle rose 1.35 cents to 83.9 cents a pound; April feeder cattle gained 0.85 cent to 91.2 cents a pound; April lean hogs edged up 1.9 cents to 62.22 cents a pound; and May pork bellies rose 1.55 cents to 84.05 cents a pound.
