[March 14, 2009]  The Lincoln Area YMCA is your place to go for that unexpected gift for your child or grandchild, niece or nephew. We offer gift certificates for all our programs for any amount. Help someone experience the fun that is the YMCA.

The YMCA is currently looking for canoes for an upcoming program. If you have a canoe that you would like to donate, please call the YMCA office regarding your generous gift. All donations made to the YMCA are tax-deductible.

Set yourself up to score at the YMCA Volleyball Clinic. Registrations are now being accepted for children in first through sixth grade. Y instructor Krista Hoban will introduce participants to the sport of volleyball, teaching them the fundamentals and working with the kids to improve their skills. This six-week session will be on Tuesday evenings, beginning April 28.

Wanting to have a birthday party or other gathering but the spring rains won't allow for outside fun? Look no further than the YMCA to help you out. The YMCA Activity Center gym is available for rental for a reasonable fee. Call the office today to see if your date is available.

What better way to spend a Friday night than at the YMCA Party Night! The sports-themed party March 20 is for first- to fifth-grade kids and will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Y Activity Center. Participants will play games, have contests, enjoy pizza and drinks, and win great prizes. All participants must be registered at the YMCA office prior to the party.

Spring break is only a few weeks away. The YMCA is here to help out with the School's Out Fun Days program. Fun Days are scheduled for April 8, for District 27 only; April 9, for C-EL and District 27; and April 13, for C-EL and District 27. Activities will be at the Y Activity Center from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for kindergarten through sixth grade. No activities scheduled April 10, as the YMCA is closed. Registration deadlines apply, and there will be an $8 per child per day fee increase for any registrations received after March 25. Fun Day participants will do arts and crafts, hear stories, play games and much more. Register at the YMCA office for these School's Out Fun Days.

Nursing Homes

Art Day is a great way to spend the day when school is out. Join us on April 13 for a day of papermaking. Participants will learn about techniques used in making paper as well as make paper from standard, everyday materials and will create a project made of paper. This class is for children in first through sixth grade and will be at the Y Activity Center from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The YMCA is currently accepting applications for the aquatics season. Apply now for a summer of fun with the YMCA.

MOOOOO! Cow bingo is just around the corner. Join us May 9 for a fun-filled day of adventure and fellowship for kids and families. Tickets for the famous cow bingo game are on sale NOW for just $15 each. Get your ticket for a chance to win a $750 cash prize. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
