[March 17, 2009]  Memorial Health System has been honored as an Employer of Choice -- one of fewer than 30 organizations nationwide to earn the prestigious award that recognizes an employer's dedication to its employees.

Four of the health system's six affiliates have locations in Lincoln. They are Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, 315 Eighth St.; Memorial Home Services, 200 N. Chicago; Memorial Physician Services' Family Medical Center in Lincoln, 515 N. College; and Mental Health Centers of Central Illinois, 304 Eighth St., and MHCCI's Logan-Mason Rehabilitation Center, 760 S. Postville Drive.

Using videoconferencing technology, there will be a recognition ceremony at the health system's three affiliated hospitals at the same time. At ALMH, the event will be in Conference Room A at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Four employees will be recognized in Lincoln. They are Angie Bossingham, case manager-rehab, Logan-Mason Rehabilitation Center; Marisa Cummings, certified nursing assistant, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the hospital's 2008 Employee of the Year; Mike Scott, medical service tech, Memorial Home Services in Lincoln; and Susan Shull, clinic administrator for Memorial Physician Services' offices in Lincoln and Petersburg.

In attendance will be Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of Abraham Lincoln Memorial, and Joyce Gioia, president and CEO of Employer of Choice Inc.

The ceremony will recognize the knowledge, skills, experience and dedication of 5,700 employees from central Illinois, including approximately 300 who work at ALMH and the Lincoln offices of Memorial Home Services, Memorial Physician Services and Mental Health Centers of Central Illinois. Fewer than 10 organizations in the nation have earned an Employer of Choice designation in 2009.
