The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Extension to sponsor bingo

The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the bingo games at The Oasis on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 1 p.m.

Alzheimer support group

The Alzheimer support group will meet in the senior center's library on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 1 p.m. No reservations are necessary. The group provides support and information for caregivers and extended family and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Memories class

The Memories class will meet on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 3:45 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own pen and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for families and friends.

Oasis board meeting

The senior center's board of directors is scheduled to meet at the center on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule any agenda items, the board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.

Bingo in Atlanta

The Oasis is traveling to the Atlanta Community House for bingo on Monday, March 23, beginning at 1 p.m.

Bunco

Bunco will be played at the senior center on Monday, March 23, beginning at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Marilyn Armbrust from Regions Bank

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for March 24 will feature pork barbecue, potato salad, green beans and dessert for $3.75; or, if you stay to play cards, the cost is $3.25. The reservation deadline is noon Monday, March 23.

Card winners

The winner for weekday pinochle was Jean Cypher. The weekend winners were Pat Sebastian and Larry Van Bibber. Congratulations!

Senior Fun Day

The winners for "Senior Fun Day" at Logan Lanes were Bob Tumbleson for the men's high game, 215; Jan Berger for the women's high game, 201; Albertine McGee for the low game; and Georgina Tisdale for improved game. Winners for colored head pin were Kenny Barker and Jan Berger. Great job!
