Agriculture futures advance on the CBOT

[March 20, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures rose Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 25.25 cents to $5.5525 a bushel; May corn gained 8.25 cents to $3.965 a bushel; May oats rose 7.75 cents to $2.01 a bushel; and May soybeans surged 25.5 cents to $9.405 a bushel.

Beef futures advanced and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle advanced 1.2 cents to 84.75 cents a pound; May feeder cattle rose 1.67 cents to 95.72 cents a pound; April lean hogs lost 0.2 cent to 62.05 cents a pound; and May pork bellies gained 1.53 cents to 91.75 cents a pound.
