[March 23, 2009]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending March 21: 

SHOES SOLD AT NORDSTROMS 

Nordstrom is recalling Girl's Shoes sold exclusively at their stores from September 2006 to February 2009. Surface paint on the outer sole of these shoes contains excessive levels of lead. 

The recall includes six styles of Nordstrom-brand shoes for girls. "Clarice-Fab" flats are bone colored with a bow. "Eva-Fab" are bone colored T-strap sandals. "Fern-Fab" are ankle strap sandals sold in bone, pink, white, blue polka-dot or pink polka-dot. "Lilly-Fab" are fuchsia gingham ballerina flats with a bow. "Rita-Fab" are ankle strap dress shoes sold in ivory linen, pink linen, white linen, cafe satin, silver satin or white satin. "Vivi-Fab" are open-toe dress shoes in bone, white, green polka-dot, lavender polka-dot or yellow polka-dot. The shoes were sold in girls' sizes 10 through big-kids 7. All shoes have an embossed "NORDSTROM" printed on the insole. 

Consumers should return the shoes to any Nordstrom store for a full refund or exchange.

RIDING MOWERS 

Kubota Manufacturing of America Corp. is recalling Zero Turn Riding Mowers sold nationwide from February 2008 to December 2008. The carburetor can fail allowing fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard. 

The recalled riding mowers are propelled by gasoline V-twin engines and have 48-inch, 54-inch or 60-inch wide mower decks. The mowers come with adjustable roll bars and have 22 or 27 horsepower engines and are bright orange with KUBOTA decals on both sides behind the driver's seat. This recall includes the following model numbers: ZG222(serial numbers 10002 through 13673), ZG227 (serial numbers 10002 through 12957), ZG327 (serial numbers 10004 through 13318) which can be identified by the model designation and serial number on the data plate located on the right side frame, either before the mower deck or immediately after the mower deck. 

Owners should have the mowers inspected by an authorized dealer and a free replacement carburetor installed.

ROAD BICYCLES 

Cannondale Bicycle Corporation is recalling 2009 Six 5, Six 6, Six Carbon 5 and Six Carbon 6 Bicycles sold nationwide from October 2008 to February 2009.  The bicycles fail to meet the federal safety standard for bicycles. Spoke protector discs, required on bicycles to prevent the bicycle chain from interfering or suddenly stopping the wheel, are missing from these bicycles. This poses a fall hazard. 

The following Cannondale bicycles are included in the recall. "Six" is printed on the bicycle's top tube and "Cannondale" is printed on the down tube.

STATE FARM BEARS 

State Farm is recalling Good Neigh Bears given away from September 2005 to March 2007. The eyes on these bears can come off, posing a choking hazard. 

This recall involves the 11-inch (28 cm) and 18-inch (46 cm) State Farm Good Neigh Bears with plastic eyes. The bears are brown and wear a white and red State Farm shirt. 

Consumers should immediately take these bears away from young children and discard them.

CRAFT KITS 

FloraCraft Corp. is recalling Solar System Kits and DNA Kits sold nationwide from January 2003 to February 2009. The surface coating on the educational kit's wires can contain excessive levels of lead. 

This recall involves the "Solar System" and the "DNA" children's educational craft kits sold under the FloraCraft and HYGLOSS brand names. The following model numbers are included in this recall. The model number is located on the kit's packaging.

GAS GENERATORS 

Sycamore SCS is recalling Pro Gas Generators sold in Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oregon, Texas, and Washington between May 2008 and October 2008.

A plastic sediment cup attached to the bottom of the fuel valve can crack during shipping and handling and cause fuel leakage or spillage, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves the following models of the Sycamore Pro gas generators: APEX 3, APEX 7, APEX 6, EGS 3.2, EGS 4.8, and EGS 7. "Sycamore Professional" and the model name can be found on the front of the generator.

PERFECT CHAIRS 

Human Touch LLC is recalling "Perfect Chair" sold nationwide from April 2000 to September 2007. The screw on the underside of the Perfect Chair recliner can cut or entangle children or pets. 

This recall involves chair model numbers PC-095, PC-3, PC-7, and PC-9 that have an "open screw" drive or a "dual cover" screw drive and that were sold prior to September 2007.

Acer America Corp. is recalling Predator Desktop Computers sold nationwide from May 2008 to December 2008. The insulation on the computer's internal wiring can become bent or stripped, causing the wires to overheat while the product is in use. This poses a burn hazard. 

This recall involves Acer Predator desktop computers. The high-end gaming machines have model numbers ASG7200 and ASG7700. Model numbers are printed on the bottom right corner of the panel on the right side of the system.
