Lincoln Police Department reports for Thursday, March 26
Property damage on March 22 at 1:35 a.m.; Fifth Street, 316 feet
west of South College Street
--Christopher R. Boward, male, of Lincoln; 2000 Chevrolet
Suburban
Boward said he was traveling west on Fifth Street near the 400
block when he set his cruise control at 32 mph. He said he was very
tired and did not remember what happened, but he lost control of his
vehicle and had driven up on a sidewalk, hitting a handrail. He
overcorrected and drove off the road to the south, traveling through
a yard and striking a residence. He suspected he had fallen asleep
while he was driving.
Logan County Paramedics responded, but Boward refused to be taken
to a hospital.
He was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, failure to
reduce speed.

Vehicle damage on March 23 at 3 p.m.; Illinois Route 10-121, 122
feet west of Illinois 121 and Woodlawn Road
--Virginia L. Huffman, female, of Lincoln; 2007 Honda Civic CRX
Huffman was parked in the Kroger parking lot. An unknown vehicle
came from an unknown direction and struck Huffman’s vehicle. The
unknown driver left the scene. There are no known witnesses.
