Robert Campbell

[March 30, 2009]  Robert Wayne Campbell, 80, of Lincoln, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at 9:07 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

There will be a private family graveside service at Old Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Laible officiating.

There is no visitation.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Campbell was an operating engineer at Lincoln Sand and Gravel and retired as a maintenance worker for Friendship Manor.

He was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Broadwell to Robert Lucas and Darline Agnew. He married Barbara Weindorf on Sept. 6, 1948, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two daughters, Cynthia (and David) Newman of Lincoln and Gayle (and Russ) Wallace of Mahomet; one son, Gregory Robert (and Brenda) Campbell of Maricopa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Samantha Wilson, Jacob Wallace and Madison Wallace.

One brother, Jack Agnew, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers union.
