It is anticipated that several
hundred students, faculty, staff and special guests will attend the
Founders' Day celebration today on the campus of Lincoln Christian
College and Seminary. The focus of the day will be the rich legacy
of the college and seminary over its 65-year history.

During the celebration, the school will introduce its first-ever
published history, "Verses and Voices," authored by Dr. Tom Tanner.
The morning will be capped off with an announcement by LCCS
President Keith Ray that the college and seminary will formally take
the name Lincoln Christian University on Sept. 1. Lincoln
Christian currently offers a comprehensive scope of degrees, from
Associate in Arts, bachelor's and master's degrees to a Doctor of
Ministry degree. In addition to the name change, the university will
add undergraduate programs in philosophy and an Associate of Science
in pre-nursing. A third school will be introduced, called the
Hargrove School. It will continue to provide adult education
offerings, master's level online learning and expanded off-site
venues.
"This is a great opportunity to expand on the rich heritage of
our schools with an eye for a promising future," said Ray.
The school will celebrate this milestone event and the formal
implementation of the university name at the convocation service on
Sept. 1. The countdown details will be available at
www.lccs.edu.
