Agriculture futures rise in Chicago trading

[May 07, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures rose Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for July delivery advanced 5.25 cents to $5.5875 a bushel, while July corn gained 2.25 cents to $4.075 a bushel. July oats added 3.75 cents to $2.08 a bushel, and July soybeans jumped 17 cents to $11.18 a bushel.

Pork and beef futures were mostly higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June lean hogs jumped 2.3 cents to 67.10 cents a pound, while July pork bellies rose 1.6 cents to 81.40 cents a pound. June live cattle slipped 0.25 cent to 81.87 cents a pound, but August feeder cattle traded up 0.23 cent to 99 cents a pound.
