[May 08, 2009]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "The Simpsons" now has the U.S. government's stamp of approval.

Crew and voice-cast members of the long-running animated series attended an unveiling Thursday of five "Simpsons" U.S. postage stamps at the Twentieth Century Fox lot in Los Angeles.

"Simpsons" producer James L. Brooks says the honor is "surreal."

The stamp issue is part of a yearlong Fox celebration dubbed "Best. 20 Years. Ever." honoring all things "Simpsons."

The show's 20th anniversary is on Jan. 14, 2010.
