Agriculture futures mostly rise; pork prices fall

[May 12, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures traded mostly higher Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery slipped 0.25 cent to $5.9075 a bushel, while July corn edged up 0.25 cent to $4.2125 a bushel. July oats jumped 6.5 cents to $2.325 a bushel, and soybeans for July delivery added 4.5 cents to $11.16 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, while pork futures slipped.

June live cattle rose 0.30 cent to 83.27 cents a pound, while August feeder cattle gained 0.90 cent to $1.016 a pound. June lean hogs shed 0.43 cent to 67.77 cents a pound, and July pork bellies slid 0.95 cent to 79.05 cents a pound.
