[May 12, 2009]  Community volunteers continue work to develop a coordinated public transit system to serve Logan, Mason and Menard counties. The group has agreed on three basic values to guide their effort:

  • They will work to develop a transit system that encourages public feedback and will develop their system around these needs.

  • They will serve the entire service area while researching travel patterns outside the counties.

  • They will maintain consistency within the system through monthly drivers' trainings and administrative meetings.

The most recent meeting was in Mason City on Monday.

Future meetings are open to the public and are scheduled as follows:

  • The Public/Legislative Outreach Group will meet again on June 8 at 10 a.m. at the Mason City Public Library.

  • The Contract Development Group will meet again on June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Mason City Public Library.

  • The entire Transit Partnership Group will meet again on June 29 at 10 a.m. at the American Legion in Mason City.

The community is encouraged to attend these meetings.

Please contact the Logan County Community Action resource specialist, Cyndi Campbell, at 217-732-2159, ext. 225, for more information.
