[May 16, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Strong thunderstorms, heavy rain and powerful wind gusts stretched Friday from western Texas northeastward across Oklahoma, eastern Kansas, northern Missouri and into Illinois and Indiana.

Several funnel clouds were spotted in Kansas, but there were no reports of touchdowns or property damage. The storms also produced hail and high winds that snapped tree limbs in Kansas and Missouri.

Flash flooding was reported in Illinois and northern Missouri.

Officials say airlines report delays of 90 minutes or more at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
