In the first game Lincoln beat Morton 11-7. Kallie Rogers, Taylor
Sparrow and Heather VanCleve each had a hit and scored once. Meg
Meeker and Jordan Wood each scored once. Ashley Poole and Brianne
Painter each had a hit and scored twice. Ashlyn Lessen also helped
by scoring twice.
The second game was against the Bloomington-Normal Storm. Lincoln
lost 4-3 in an international tie-breaker. Losing pitcher was Taylor
Sparrow with winning stats of 14 strikeouts, two hits and two runs
scored at the plate. Ashley Poole had a hit and a run scored. Ashlyn
Glick, Heather VanCleve and Jessica Plummer all had hits. Emily
Martinez had a sacrifice RBI to help her team's efforts.
The third game Lincoln won 10-8 against the Washington Cobras.
Starting pitcher was Meg Meeker and the winning pitcher was Taylor
Sparrow. Jessica Plummer scored twice as a courtesy runner. Taylor
Sparrow, Meg Meeker and Brianne Painter each had a hit and a run
scored for the Chill. Ashlyn Glick, Heather VanCleve, Jordan Wood
and Ashlyn Lessen each scored once as well.
The fourth game of the tournament Lincoln lost 9-4 to the
Washington Cobras
Black team in another international tie-breaker. Kallie Rogers and
Kaitlyn Hasprey each had one hit and one run scored for the Chill.
Taylor Sparrow had one hit and
one RBI. Brianne Painter had one run scored. Ashlyn Glick had a
double, single and one run scored.

On Tuesday night the Chill had a doubleheader and lost the first
game 8-3 to the Valley Thunder of Downs. Kallie Rogers had a double
and scored once. Ashlyn Glick had a hit and an RBI. Heather VanCleve
had a hit and scored once. Brianne Painter and Kaitlyn Hasprey each
had a hit. Meg Meeker scored once as well to help the Chill in their
efforts. Taylor Sparrow was losing pitcher with 14 strikeouts.

"This is a long season and we are just getting started," the
Chill White coaches said. "We are expecting good things out of this
team. They are going to be much better as the
year progresses. We will have to work on some things in practice and
become better. We are very proud of these girls and are having fun
playing the great game of softball."
