Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[May 20, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery jumped 13 cents to $5.905 a bushel, while July corn gained 4.25 cents to $4.215 a bushel and July soybeans surged 16 cents to $11.465 a bushel. Oats for July delivery advanced 7.75 cents to $2.3575 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle lost 0.58 cent to 82.52 cents a pound; August feeder cattle fell 0.48 cent to $1.0182 a pound; June lean hogs slipped 0.13 cent to 66.77 cents a pound; and July pork bellies edged down 0.15 cent to 73.4 cents a pound.
