CHARLESTON -- Hilary Hobler of
Lincoln advanced to the Class 2A state finals in the long jump on
Friday with a best jump of 17 feet, 6.75 inches. Hobler's jump puts
her in fifth place overall with three jumps left to go in Saturday's
finals.

The long jump finals begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Eastern
Illinois University. This is the second consecutive year that Hobler
has advanced to the IHSA state long jump finals.
