Agriculture futures trade mixed on the CBOT

[May 27, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery slipped 0.5 cent to $6.12 a bushel, while July corn fell 2.75 cents to $4.275 a bushel and July oats lost 1.75 cents to $2.4775 a bushel. Soybeans for July delivery surged 19.5 cents to $11.855 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures advanced and pork futures traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle inched up 0.3 cent to 82.82 cents a pound; August feeder cattle rose 0.65 cent to $1.0257 a pound; June lean hogs fell 0.42 cent to 65.55 cents a pound; and July pork bellies slid 0.78 cent to 72.42 cents a pound.
