Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[May 30, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery jumped 6.75 cents to $6.3725 a bushel, while July corn advanced 7.5 cents to $4.3625 a bushel and July oats rose 1 cent to $2.51 a bushel. Soybeans for July delivery climbed 5 cents to $11.84 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures edged down on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle lost 0.18 cent to 81.32 cents a pound; August feeder cattle slipped 0.07 cent to $1.0175 cents a pound; June lean hogs dropped 1.48 cents to 63.92 cents a pound; and July pork bellies fell 0.35 cent to 72.6 cents a pound.
