[May 30, 2009]  PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police arrested a 27-year-old woman accused of driving recklessly and kicking a state trooper in the face. The woman was in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence, attempting to elude an officer and assaulting an officer.

DonutsLt. Gregg Hastings said a driver called dispatchers Thursday to report that a car going faster than 100 mph almost flipped after hitting a concrete median on Interstate 84. Trooper Jose Cortez spotted the car and obtained a speed reading of 90 mph. He activated his siren, but the car driven by the woman failed to yield for many miles before eventually stopping.

Hastings said the woman was combative following her arrest. While seated in the back of the patrol car, she allegedly kicked a second trooper in the face.
