LJHS speech team sweeps up at state contest

[November 05, 2009]  The Lincoln Junior High speech team competed in the IESA state contest on Saturday at Springfield Christian School. The team earned 14 first-place awards and six for second place. Four LJHS events received the Judges' Choice award for outstanding performances of the day.

Judges' Choice awards

  • "Exit Stage Right": Steven Schleich, Alishia Debord and Elijah Chapman

  • "This Man Needs Help": Brianna Dye and Kieran Foster

  • "A Fine Line": Gabrielle Brumfield and Rebecca Stein

  • "Holy Taters, Kemosabee!": Steven Schleich and Elijah Chapman
