[November 12, 2009]  Lincoln College won their home opener Wednesday night, a 93-80 victory over Olney, to move to 3-1.

The Lynx, playing in front of a large crowd, did a great job of making decisions in the first half, limiting turnovers to only four. Lincoln led at halftime 48-39.

Lincoln continued to make good decisions in the second half, driving the lead to 20 points. However, Olney picked up the pressure, which led to more turnovers on Lincoln’s part.

Marius Sumrell led all scorers with 22 points, followed by 19 from Kenyon Smith. The Lynx had 11 players score in the game.

Lincoln comments: "We did a great job of hitting free throws, going 29-32 for the game. Our guards did a much better job of getting to the rim and getting the ball in the post." The Lynx also "had some great play from some guys off the bench, like Kiel Turpin, who finished with 12 points."

The Lynx play at Carl Sandburg on Saturday at 3 p.m. and will be at home again on Wednesday vs. Rend Lake.
